On behalf of the local churches, it is my privilege to welcome you to Carols in the Park 2019.

Mt Barker Carols in the Park, is one of those rare occasions where the community gathers in one place to celebrate, together with family and friends, the joy of Christmas. Christmas represents many different things to people. For some it is a celebration of a historic event – the arrival of God with us in the form of a human baby. A child who would grow up to have incredible influence on generations to come across every region of the world. For others it is a chance to enjoy good company and food, and for others, a time of reflection for the year that has passed.

As you enjoy tonight’s festivities may the songs, reflections and candlelight remind you of the meaning Christmas has in your life.

Carols in the Park has grown from strength to strength over recent years. An event of this scale could not take place without the amazing support of our carols committee, volunteers, musicians, artists, sponsors, local businesses, churches, Mt Barker District Council and community members like you who join in to celebrate.

On behalf of the Mount Barker Region Ministers Fellowship I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas and ask God to bless you and your family in 2020 and beyond.

Rev Matthew Carratt

Pastor and Chairperson of the Mount Barker Region Ministers Fellowship
