Lisa Duffield

Lisa Duffield is one of Adelaide’s premiere singers. She has had a varied and vibrant career in the pop music industry with her band, and has toured nationally and internationally. She is an accomplished compere for many large events, and she can also be found performing with the Mt Barker Big Band, and other Adelaide musicians. She toured for the Australian season of “Oklahoma!’ and has performed as a singer, dancer and actor in many stage shows and productions. She is highly regarded as a talented and accomplished performer! Lisa is an experienced voice teacher, known for her encouraging teaching style and the success of her students. Many past students now have flourishing musical careers, and many move on to further vocal studies. She has recently been online coaching several young up and coming singers in Los Angeles! Ashleigh Jocks

Ashleigh Jocks is a vocalist currently residing in the Adelaide Hills. After graduating from high school, she gained a position in the Jazz Performance degree at the Elder Conservatorium. In 2018, she received an award for Outstanding Soloist in the international DownBeat Music Awards. She was also named Top Voice Undergraduate at the Helpmann Academy Jazz Awards, and performed alongside New York City jazz band “The Hot Sardines”in 2018. Since graduating from university, Ashleigh now teaches voice lessons in various schools, and is studying professional voice training alongside highly esteemed vocalist, and educator Naomi Eyers. Ashleigh is so excited to be performing at Carols in the Park this year!

Georgia Malchow

Georgia Malchow is one of the up and coming singers in the Adelaide hills live music scene. She performs at many local events, both as a soloist and as a vocalist with the Mount Barker Big Band. She is a featured performer at the Mount Barker Carols singing to an audience of more than two thousand people. She is also a regular soloist, for the Strathalbyn Christmas Carols and the Callington Christmas Carols. She is an experienced stage performer with success in James Morrison’s Generations in Jazz Festival. Georgia has also performed on tv, singing in the Team Kids Webathon. Georgia’s soulful voice sets the atmosphere for relaxing afternoon drinks, and her repertoire of low key and contemporary songs will please any audience and suit any venue.

Bella Jenke

Bella Jenke is a passionate young singer from the Adelaide Hills. Having just completed Year 12 at St Francis de Sales College, Mount Barker, she has been involved in many jazz and contemporary vocal ensembles and bands throughout her schooling, and loves to perform in whatever way she can! Bella was a member of the 2021 Class of Cabaret and received incredibly valuable performance and vocal training and mentoring from Cabaret stars Joanne Hartstone and Hew Parham, and incredible vocal coach Rosie Hosking. Bella has been a part of the Mt Barker Carols team since 2017, and is thrilled to join you again this year to celebrate the joy of Christmas!

Eliza Lovelock

Eliza Lovelock is a first-year Bachelor of Music Student. A keen vocalist and performer, she’s in various ensembles at Tabor Music, including their award-winning A’ Capella group, The Tabor Tones, as well as playing trumpet in their Funk Band, singing in their Musical Theatre Choir and drumming in the Percussion Ensemble. Eliza also plays trumpet locally under the awesome Karen Redman. Not one to stop at just singing and playing instruments, Eliza also has a regularly spot as an announcer with Arch-D Radio. Along with her sister Tilly, she is also a keen sportsperson and can be seen playing, coaching or umpiring netball and softball on the weekends for some downtime! She is pleased to be a part of Carols again in 2021.

Matilda Lovelock

Matilda Lovelock is in Year 11 at St Francis de Sales College and has recently celebrated her 17th birthday. Tilly is involved in several ensembles at the College, including Musaic Senior Vocal, of which she is captain, VoCo, the Small Senior Vocal A’ Capella Ensemble, and JazZone, St Francis’ competition choir for Generations in Jazz. A vocal student under the fabulous Lisa Duffield, Tilly is also one of four vocalists who front the senior band, Heart’n’Soul, who have performed again this year at the Catholic Schools Music Festival. However, her talents don’t stop there; Tilly also plays electric bass in the College’s Jazz Combo Band, de Groove, as well as the Mixed Bag Band. She is delighted to perform for you for a fourth year at Carols.

Akeera Chapman

Akeera Chapman is a 17-year-old singer with a big passion for performing and sharing her music. Starting singing lessons with Lisa Duffield in 2016, Akeera has accumulated invaluable experience over the years. She has performed the National Anthem at both the Women’s Tour Down Under Nairne start and the Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony at Auchendarroch House. She has also performed in the Strathalbyn Christmas Carols in 2019 and the 2020 Mount Barker Carols as well smaller gigs around Mount Barker. Akeera had the exciting opportunity to perform in the inaugural Vocal Jazz Fest where the choir ‘Somethin’ Else’ placed second.

Nathan Sachse

Nathan Sachse is a year 11 student at St Francis de Sales College where he has studied music all throughout high school. This is his second year performing at Mt Barker Carols. He has performed in multiple Ensembles at St Francis, a few of which you will see today, as well as being a musician at his local Church. Nathan is very excited to be a part of the vocal team this year and looks forward to bringing joy to the Adelaide Hills community through the Carols!

Yvette Hawke

Life is too unpredictable to not step out and try something new or something you’ve wanted to do for a long time, that’s what led Yvette to originally audition for the Mount Barker Carols a few years ago. She has sung for many years in various situations, she sings often, she sings with joy & she sings a variety of styles. A highlight for Yvette is singing with the Mount Barker Carols Big Band and creating memories that make her smile and fill her with joy. She hopes that you enjoy the Carols event this year.

Maximillian Maher

Music has been part of my life since before I can remember. My whole family has played an instrument at least once in my lifetime, but I must say that my Dad and two oldest brothers have had the most influence on my music. I began taking piano lessons when I was 8 years old and I have been singing for as long as I have been playing piano, if not longer. I always look forward to new opportunities to improve my musical talent, whether that’s regarding tickling the ivories or my voice. I have always enjoyed watching the Mount Barker Carols and I’m excited to now be part of it alongside the other fantastic talent you’ll see tonight.

Charli Schulz

Charli Schulz is a 17-year-old singer who recently finished Year 12 at Cornerstone College. She has been singing with Lisa Duffield since 2019, though her love of music has been lifelong. She has been heavily involved in Cornerstone’s music ensembles and is also a self-taught guitarist who loves exploring a range of genres including musical theatre, jazz, indie, and pop. In 2019 Charli performed at the Strathalbyn Christmas Carols and busked as part of Hahndorf’s Christmas Village and is an enthusiastic and passionate performer always looking for opportunities to learn and entertain. Charli is excited to be part of the 2021 Mt Barker Carols.

Willow Rist

Willow Rist is a local 17 year old vocalist who has been taking singing lessons for around 8 years - although she's been singing her whole life! Her favourite genres to peform are musical theatre and jazz. Willow has recently completed Year 12 and hopes to study a Bachelor of Music next year. She is excited to be part of the Mount Barker Carols again this year.

Lauren Watson

Lauren Watson is a 17-year-old dedicated and passionate local singer from the Adelaide Hills. Lauren is in Year 11 at St Francis de Sales College, Mount Barker and take vocal lessons with Lisa Duffield. She is part of the school music ensembles ‘JazZone’, ‘VoCo’, ‘Heart’n’Soul’ and ‘Musaic’ where she has gained much experience. This year will be her first performance as a soloist for the Mount Barker Carols and Lauren is excited to be part of the vocal team this year.
