Lisa Duffield is one of Adelaide’s premiere singers.
She performs with her band at many venues in Adelaide, and has toured nationally and internationally. She is an accomplished compere,
and performs locally with the Mt Barker Big Band and Mount Barker District Concert Band.
She is highly regarded as a talented and accomplished performer!
Lisa is an experienced voice teacher,
with many past students now following successful musical careers.
She is the vocal teacher at Cornerstone College and St Francis de Sales College.
Ashleigh Jocks is a vocalist currently residing in the Adelaide Hills. After graduating from high school, she gained a position in the Jazz Performance degree at the Elder Conservatorium. In 2018, she received an award for Outstanding Soloist in the international DownBeat Music Awards. She was also named Top Voice Undergraduate at the Helpmann Academy Jazz Awards, and performed alongside New York City jazz band “The Hot Sardines”in 2018. Since graduating from university, Ashleigh now teaches voice lessons in various schools, and is studying professional voice training alongside highly esteemed vocalist, and educator Naomi Eyers. Ashleigh is so excited to be performing at Carols in the Park this year!
Georgia Malchow is making her mark on the Adelaide Hills live music scene.
She performs at many local events including Carols in The Park, in Mount Barker, singing audiences of more than two thousand people.
She is also a regular soloist at the Strathalbyn Christmas Carols and sings with Brass Souls at the Callington Carols
She has trained for many years with vocal teacher extraordinaire Lisa Duffield,
and is an experienced stage performer with success in James Morrison’s Generations in Jazz Festival. Georgia has also performed on television, singing in the Team Kids Webathon.
Georgia is excited to be a part of this year’s Balhannah Carols/Mt Barker Christmas event.
Isabella Jenke is a 17 year old student at St Francis de Sales College, Mount Barker. She has been performing for over 7 years as part of school choirs and bands, such as vocal ensembles and bands JazZone, Musaic, VoCo, and Heart ‘n’ Soul, and never misses an opportunity to sing at school music performances and functions. Bella has previously competed in the Generations in Jazz festival in Mount Gambier and has sung many times at various carols and church performances in both Strathalbyn and Mount Barker. In 2019, she travelled to Italy for a year-long exchange and sung in the choir at the theatre in Como, as well as performing with her school’s orchestra, and she is delighted to be a part of the Mount Barker Carols agaon in 2020!
Eliza Lovelock is 17 and has just completed Year 12 at St Francis de Sales College. A keen vocalist and entertainer, this is Eliza’s third Carols in the Park. In 2019, she was a performer in the Adelaide Cabaret Festival’s Class of Cabaret and she was featured as a soloist in the Catholic Schools Music Festival in 2018 and 2019. She has also performed as a soloist in a number of Balhannah/Oakbank Community Carols, and played trumpet in the Carols Super Band this year. A member of many ensembles at St Francis, and a long-time Music student, Eliza was one of the College’s R-12 Music Captains for the last two years. Next year, she aims to study Bachelor of Music Theatre at Adelaide University. She is excited to be performing again for you today.
Tilly Lovelock is 16 and recently completed Year 10 at St Francis de Sales College. Well known for her angelic voice, Tilly has been studying under Lisa Duffield for the last three years. Also an electric bass player, Tilly is a member of most senior ensembles at St Francis and happily gives up her lunchtimes to rehearse! Since 2017, she has performed at the Balhannah/Oakbank Community carols and this is Tilly’s third Carols in the Park event as a soloist and her fourth as a St Francis de Sales ensemble member. She is delighted to perform for you again today.
Akeera Chapman is a 16-year-old singer from Cornerstone College, Mount Barker with a big passion for performing. Starting singing lessons with Lisa Duffield in 2016, Akeera has accumulated invaluable experience over the years. Most recently, she has performed the National Anthem at both the Women’s Tour Down Under Nairne start and the Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony at Auchendarroch House as well as the Strathalbyn Carols in 2019. Akeera had the opportunity to perform in the Generations in Jazz Festival last year with the school’s Jazz Choir, ‘Somethin’ Else’ and would have gone again this year too. After many years of watching the Carols, Akeera is very excited to finally be able to perform up on the stage in this year’s Carols in the Park.
Nathan Sachse is 15 and is in Year 10 at St Francis de Sales College, Mount Barker. He has been singing in school choirs since Year 4 and was recently named Captain of St Francis’ JazZone choir. Nathan has travelled to Mount Gambier to compete in Generations in Jazz from 2017-2019 and is also a part of three other music ensembles at St Francis de Sales. This is Nathan’s first time singing at our Carols event and he very excited to be part of it.
