Emily Linton

Emily was born in Darwin and has always loved to sing. Music has been an active part of her life through voice and instrumental instruction and performance. She learned piano, flute and the recorder but her love
has always been singing.

Always eager to sing, Emily participated in primary and high school choirs and concerts. Her first major performance was at age 11 when she performed in the chorus for the BEAT, a multi school production. Later that year she performed in her school production of Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat. She then performed her first Carols by Candlelight solo in Darwin at the age of 12 singing ‘Jingle Bell Rock’.

Emily’s teenage years were filled with solo singing and performance as she participated in high school, church and community productions; performing in football stadiums to thousands of people. She also performed in ‘Godspell’ and numerous Eisteddfods.

Emily has coordinated and conducted both school and church choirs performing in the Northern Territory, South Australia and the USA. Music is an essential component to her work as a classroom teacher and she enjoys
enriching student learning through music.

Most recently, Emily performed with the Carols by Candlelight Choir in Darwin for Christmas 2017.

After many years focused on her profession as an educator and becoming a mother, Emily is ready to step back into the spotlight and share her love of music. She is thrilled to be part of the Mt Barker Carols in the Park, 2019.
